What is Transposition?

Transposition means moving a song to a different key: every chord shifts by the same number of semitones. It’s how you fit a song to a vocalist’s range.

Explanation

Raise a song in G by a whole step and G becomes A, C becomes D, and Em becomes F#m. The melody and harmony stay the same; only the pitch changes.

Example

G – D/F# – Em – C → +2 semitones → A – E/G# – F#m – D

How it works in Kinor

In Kinor, transposition is one tap, and the leader can lock the key in the setlist for each service.
