What is Capo?

A capo is a clamp a guitarist puts on the neck to raise the pitch of the strings. With a capo you can play familiar chord shapes in a different key.

Explanation

A capo on the 2nd fret raises the sound by a whole step: a G shape sounds like A. The guitarist plays comfortable chords while the song stays in the vocalist’s key.

Example

Key of A, capo on the 2nd fret: play G – D – Em – C

How it works in Kinor

When you transpose, Kinor suggests which fret to put the capo on so you can play familiar chords.
